HTC One Remix for Verizon leak

In the middle of May this year, HTC officially introduced the newest member to the One mini family, called the One mini 2. Less of a variant of the recently launched One (M8) and more of a direct successor to the One mini launched in 2013, the One mini 2 is a mid-range device that turned out to be not so bad. Now, rumor has it that it’s landing on Verizon’s network soon.

The One mini 2 has actually landed on Verizon’s landing page once before in the past, indicating some truth to the rumors that surfaced soon after the One mini 2 was officially unveiled. Now, according to a new report from frequent leaker @evleaks, it looks like the Big Red network is ready to take the curtain off their branded version of the One mini 2.

It’s called the HTC One Remix, which will hopefully not lead to any confusion once it lands in stores. (It probably would be nice to have “mini” in there somewhere, right?) The leak suggests that Verizon will launch the One Remix on July 24. That happens to be a Thursday, a day that tends to be a new device day for Verizon, so it could very well turn out to be true.

As far as features go, there isn’t any reason to expect much of a difference here from the original handset launched earlier this year, except for more Verizon branding. You’ll still get a 4.5-inch display with a 720p resolution, a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor under the hood with 1GB of RAM. There’s a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and a 5MP camera up front. It will land with 16GB of built-in storage, but that will be expandable with a microSD card.

Considering the One (M8)’s price tag, the One Remix should launch for a pretty respectable price, hopefully. Do you plan on picking up the One Remix when it launches?
