As rumoured, HTC has just announced a new variant of the HTC One with Nexus user experience. The announcement comes a couple of weeks after Samsung and Google announced a Galaxy S4 running stock Android and offering the Nexus user experience.

Compared to the Sense variant of the HTC One, the HTC One with Nexus user experience runs on the latest version of Jelly Bean (Android 4.2.2), and will get direct updates from Google like any other Nexus device. On the hardware front, there is no difference between the Sense and the Nexus variant of the One. This means that the Snapdragon S600 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, front-facing stereo speakers, 32GB of storage space and the 4MP UltraPixel camera are all intact.

HTC’s blog states that the “special edition device” will only be available in the United States initially, and will work on supported (T-Mobile/AT&T) GSM networks. Out of the box, the device will be bootloader unlockable like any Nexus device, and will be SIM unlocked as well.

The HTC One with Nexus user experience will be available on the Play Store from 26th June for $599.
