Were you looking forward to buying an HTC One Mini? Well, I have some bad news for you. According to AndroidNext, who has some pretty convincing screenshots of the device running CPU-Z and AnTuTu, it looks like the One Mini will have just 1 GB of RAM. Now the Snapdragon 400 I can deal with, because it benches faster than last year’s flagship chip, the Snapdragon S4, but 1 GB of RAM? That’s brutal. Everyone knows Android’s number one weakness is its inability to run smoothly on devices with a low amount of memory.
Other key One Mini specs, if you still care at this point: 4.3 inch 720p screen, 1.7 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4, BoomSound speakers, and the same UltraPixel that’s in the One, though it hasn’t been confirmed yet if it has optical image stabilization or not.
I don’t know, I’m just not feeling this device anymore. That RAM issue is a deal breaker. Hopefully Sony’s Honami Mini will have better specs. And there’s always the Moto X to look forward to.
