There has been some confusion over the naming of the upcoming HTC One Mini successor. And according to Evleaks, HTC might be keeping it “simple” by calling it the One Mini 2. Several theories have suggested that HTC might opt for something like the One (M8) Mini, but that doesn’t appear to be the case, much to our delight.
We’ll treat this merely as speculation until HTC makes the device official later this month. However, the Twitter source has usually been spot on with such leaks in the past, so we expect this to come to fruition.
A rumor from about a month ago suggested that the One Mini 2 could feature a 4.5 inch 720p display, a quad core Snapdragon 400 chipset and a 13-megapixel camera on the back along with Android 4.4 KitKat. The handset is expected to share software features from the HTC One (M8) including the new BlinkFeed homescreen.
A leak from yesterday also revealed that the smartphone will not feature dual cameras on the back like its large sized sibling, so the software will have to aid with the camera tricks. Furthermore, it has been said that the back casing of the handset will be made out of plastic, which could merely be a cost cutting measure from the manufacturer.
