HTC One M9

HTC has started rolling out a software update for the One M9 in the United States that drastically improves the camera performance of the device.

The Taiwanese OEM had rolled out a similar update to the international variant of the M9 in March, and this is the exact same update but for the U.S. variants of the handset. The 88MB OTA update bumps the build number to 1.32.531.33, and is currently being rolled out to Sprint units of the One M9. The update for the T-Mobile variant of the M9 is under testing and will start rolling out from next week. Verizon’s One M9 — which goes on sale tomorrow — will will come with this software pre-loaded.

So, how much of a difference does the update make? If the pictures shot by the folks over at Phandroid are to be believed, the update does make quite a staggering difference to image quality and sharpness, but does not fix all the issues that affect the One M9’s rear camera.
