The One (M9) from HTC has managed to avoid plenty of leaks up until recently, with the company managing to keep under wraps just what the new handset will look ahead of its official launch.

That has changed recently, though, with reports outing the full specifications along with the first glimpses of what the final handset will allegedly look like. Those designs, however, have been put in question several times, with many believing that HTC will alter the design of the upcoming flagship in big ways.

Based on images revealed by @upleaks, that is not the case, though. While the back of the handset looks different enough, albeit due to only having one camera this time around, the front of the handset looks like a carbon copy of the One (M8) from last year. That includes the large black bar just below the display.

The images from the prominent leaker showcase the handset in the gun metal and two-tone gold-and-silver variants. With Mobile World Congress right around the corner, HTC still has a chance to surprise the world with the design of the One (M9), but at this point it’s not looking too likely.

What do you think of the One (M9)’s design?
