HTC has delayed the launch of the One M9 in its home market — Taiwan — due to software issues.

The handset was scheduled to be available in Taiwan from March 16th.

The exact reason behind the delay is unknown, though one user at Mobile01 said that it was due to a boot failure. HTC confirmed in an email that it is working on providing the “latest version of software” for the One M9 and intends to make the phone available in Taiwan “as soon as possible.”

While the company did not provide a new release date, some HTC stores sent out text messages saying that the 32GB variant of the handset will now be available from March 20 with the 64GB version being delayed until the end of the month.

Whenever the One M9 does end up being launched in Taiwan, it will be available in three colors: dual-tone silver and rose gold, single-tone gunmetal gray and single-tone gold.
