If you’re under T-Mobile’s network in the United States and own an HTC-branded One (M8), then there’s an update that’s rolling out to your device. While many would probably assume it’s Android 4.4.4, that’s not actually the case, as the device is being graced with Android 4.4.3 instead. It’s not all bad news, though.
With the update now rolling out over the air (OTA), that means One (M8) owners will start getting the update beginning today, August 18. It will take some time to roll out to all owners, but it should land on your device soon. And, as aforementioned, the update is Android 4.4.3, and not Android 4.4.4. However, T-Mobile and HTC have actually included many of the security fixes and performance updates from Android 4.4.4 in this particular update. So, while it may not reflect the numbers, or be technically on the most updated version of Android out there, the T-Mobile One (M8) is at least not completely lacking.
The update itself was first picked up by Twitter user Joe Gualtieri (@Joey_D_Netsfan), and TmoNews subsequently confirmed the update. With the new software, improvements have been made to the camera (and Image Match), HTC Sync Manager, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and overall Sense experience improvements to things like BoomSound and Motion Launch, plus more.
If you have a T-Mobile HTC One (M8), did you get the update yet?
