Less than a week after rolling out the Android 4.4.2 update for the Nexus devices, the Google Play edition devices have started receiving the update as well. This includes the Google Play edition of HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4 and the recently released, LG G Pad 8.3.
The Android 4.4.2 update does not really bring much to the table, except for some under the hood-bug-fixes and minor UI changes. Apart from rolling out the update, HTC has also updated the framework files and source code for the One Google Play edition.
If you own a GPe device, its time to start mashing that ‘Check for updates’ button. Alternatively, you can always side load the update manually by simply downloading the OTA update directly from Google’s server, transfer it to your device and then apply it via recovery mode.
