One E8 for Sprint

In June, HTC sold 50,000 One (E8) devices in about 15 minutes in China. A device like that certainly deserves to see the light of day in other markets, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it’s launching in the United States. Sprint initially teased the device’s arrival on August 15 in a quick promotional video, but the carrier has now made it official.

The Now Network officially announced the One (E8)’s arrival on their online store and through telesales on August 29. Nothing has changed in the U.S.-based variant, though, so you’ll still be getting a 5-inch Super LCD 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz under the hood, and 2GB of RAM. There’s a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and a 5MP front-facing shooter. The battery is measured in at 2600mAh. It’s rocking 16GB of built-in storage and a pair of front-facing speakers. It’s running HTC’s proprietary Sense 6 user interface. You can choose between Misty Gray and Polar White.

As far as pricing goes, the device will run you $99.99 if you decide to go with a new, two-year contract. If you choose to pick up the new handset with Sprint’s Easy Pay, you’ll be able to for $0 down, and then 23 subsequent payments of $20.84, and then one payment of $20.67.

The One (E8) is certainly a worthy device, sharing plenty of similarities of the flagship One (M8), but with a significantly cheaper price tag. Would you consider the new device?
