Up until now not much information was available about the upcoming Android 4.2.2 update for the Sense variant of the HTC One. Rumors had suggested that the update should roll out within a couple of weeks, and will bring Sense 5.1 with it. Today, the developer of Android Revolution HD, has managed to get his hands on a leaked Android 4.2.2 RUU for the One and has provided some sneak peek into what the update is going to bring.

The Android 4.2.2 update won’t bump the Sense version to 5.1 as rumored. However, there will be improvements made to Sense and Blinkfeed, including minor UI and usability tweaks for the former and Instagram integration for the latter. HTC has added one of the most requested features from One users – the ability to view battery % in the status bar. Another key change is the ability to open Google Now by swiping up from the Home button, and holding it for the menu button.

All the new features that Google introduced in Android 4.2, including Quick Settings and Daydream are also on-board. Quick Settings can be accessed as on the Nexus devices, with either a tap at an icon on the notification bar or with a two-finger swipe from the notification bar.

There is not much information available as to when the roll-out should begin, but since the Nexus experience HTC One is supposed to launch by June 26th, I am guessing it won’t be long.
