In October of last year, HTC officially launched the One A9, a handset that, while certainly noteworthy for its feature set, also caught eyes for looking quite similar to Apple’s iPhone 6.
According to a new report from VentureBeat, HTC is apparently planning on emulating Apple in another way, too: naming conventions. The report states that HTC is gearing up to launch a follow up to last year’s One A9, and if the unnamed source is accurate, it will be called the “One A9s,” which would indeed follow Apple’s naming conventions for its own “tock” upgrades. (The iPhone 6s, for instance, which followed the iPhone 6.)
The post arrives with a look at the handset, which will apparently come in black, white, gold, and a bluish-silver. The sensors have been slightly tweaked, and the camera/flash housings have been altered a bit, but otherwise the new One A9s looks identical to its predecessor.
The report states that HTC will unveil the new handset at IFA this year, which is set to take place in early September, so stay tuned.
