Earlier today, HTC announced the One M9+ — a beefier version of its international flagship, the One M9. In case you were hoping that HTC would bring the One M9+ to the American and European markets, here is some bad news for you.
The company has officially confirmed in a statement that it does not intend to bring the One M9+ to the European and American markets. The company says that it has worked closely with operators in China to create the One M9+ with the right balance of screen size, performance, software and mobile network compatibility. It does, however, plans to bring the handset to other markets of the world, which it will confirm sometime in the future.
Below is the full statement from the company:
HTC is excited to bring the HTC One M9+ to customers in China, where we have worked closely with mobile operators to create a phone with the right balance of screen size, processor performance, software, and radio network compatibility to meet consumers’ needs. Ranging in other markets will be confirmed locally at a later date. The One M9+ is not currently planned to be released in North America or Europe, where we believe our flagship HTC One M9 is the best choice for blazing fast performance, incredible sound, and network compatibility across the broadest range of operators.
The One M9+ seems to be an impressive handset, at least on paper. Its international sibling –the One M9 — has been panned by all reviewers with some even saying that it is worse than its predecessor, the One M8.
