HTC has been tasked with creating the next line-up of Nexus devices that will launch later in 2016. The code name of the premium variant is called the Nexus Marlin. The mid-range phone is code named the Nexus Sailfish. Today, the renders for the later device were leaked online on China’s micro-blogging site — Weibo.
The Nexus Sailfish is rumoured to launch with a 5-inch HD display, 12MP rear camera and 8MP selfie cam. Under the hood, the device will have, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. A quad-core 2.0GHz CPU is found at the heart of the device.
It also features a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the device with motion swipe built into it to capture images. The Sailfish is expected to arrive with Android N pre-installed and a USB Type-C port for charging.
The Nexus Sailfish is expected to go on sale sometime later in September or early October. The renders show the device in Gold, Silver and Black based on the expected options for the handset.
