NVIDIA has an ongoing legal battle with Qualcomm and Samsung, where specific products are in the limelight for infringing on specific patents. NVIDIA recently published a long list of legal documents to their website, and on page 41, a very interesting name was mentioned for an upcoming launch.

The HTC Nexus tablet has been rumored off-and-on for several months. Most recently, a leaked document showcased the rumored Keyboard Case for the upcoming 9-inch tablet. While it is far from official at this point, the best guess scenario at this point is that HTC has indeed been tapped to launch the next Nexus-branded tablet.

According to the NVIDIA legal documents, the “HTC Nexus 9” is indeed running the company’s Tegra K1 processor under the hood. On top of that, the tablet will apparently launch at some point in the third quarter of 2014, but no exact dates were provided. And while the processor is allegedly revealed, no other key details were provided in the document.
