Rumors regarding the next Nexus-branded tablet have been swirling for some time now, and many reports have suggested that Google is working with HTC to bring the new tablet to market. Now, a new image has surfaced that seems to indicate the tablet from HTC is indeed coming.
While nothing is official quite yet, as no announcements have been made by Google or HTC, the leaked image from Twitter account Upleaks (@upleaks) does appear to show a large Nexus-branded tablet, with an HTC logo down near the bottom edge of the device. At the top-left corner, the camera ring looks to be paired up with an LED flash, and the 3.5mm audio jack looks to be positioned just above that on the top edge.
Looking at the image, it would appear that Google and HTC decided to simply expand the Nexus 5, even going so far as to use the familiar camera ring style as the smaller Nexus-branded smartphone from 2013. Indeed, it’s at least worth noting that the entire Nexus 9 looks like a stretched out Nexus 5, even with the soft-touch material on the back cover. Of course, it’s an image, so the finer details could be different, but it would appear that if this is indeed the Nexus 9, it bears a striking resemblance to the smaller Nexus 5.
If this is indeed the next Nexus tablet, based on what you see here, would you consider picking it up?
