HTC today reported its financial earnings for Q4, 2014 where it managed to earn a slim profit of $15.9 million. The company’s total revenue for the last quarter of 2014 reached NT$47.9 billion ($1.524 billion) — an increase of 12% on a year-on-year basis.

The company reported a gross margin of 20.4% with an operating margin of only 0.4%. In its report, HTC says that while its profit margins reflect the highly competitive mobile market, its Desire and One line-up of smartphones continued to gain market share in key markets. For the first quarter of 2015, HTC expects its revenue to be in the range of NT$41.5 billion to $NT45 billion with a gross profit margin of anywhere between $19.5% to 20%.

HTC boasts in its report that its products received a bunch of awards from different media segments across the world. While its flagship handset, the One M8, was crowned as the Best Android Phone from Business Insider, PC World and TechCentral, its accompanying DotView case was named as “Wireless Handsets Accessories Honoree” by CES Innovation Awards. The RE Camera also won the Gold medal for Design at Spark Awards.

Here’s hoping that all those awards translates into some sales for HTC in 2015.
