At an event in Delhi, India today, HTC launched the One M9+, One E9+ and the Desire 326G. The company was expected to launch the One M9 in India, but instead announced the One M9+ — a beefier and slightly bigger handset than its international flagship.
The Taiwanese OEM had launched the One M9+ in China last week itself, and had clarified back then that the handset will not be making its way to European and American markets.
The One M9+ comes with a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, an octa-core 64-bit MediaTek Xelio X10 processor, 3GB RAM, a fingerprint scanner, BoomSound stereo speakers, 32GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 4MP front-facing ‘UltraPixel’ sensor and a 20MP rear shooter assisted by a secondary depth sensor for Duo effects.
The handset has been priced at Rs. 52,500, and will be available from the 1st week of May in the country.
HTC also announced the One E9+ at the event. The handset is going to be the successor to the One E8, and will be priced slightly lower than the One M9+. While the E9+ will retain the same internal specs as the M9+, it does sacrifice the secondary depth sensor and 16GB of internal storage space. The screen size on the handset has also been bumped to 5.5-inches, though it retains its Quad HD resolution.
To make up for the relatively low internal storage space, the One E9+ supports microSD cards of up to 2TB in capacity. The outside of the phone has also been made from plastic to keep its price in check.
HTC did not announce the price of the One E9+ at the event. It did specify though that it will be available in three colors: Meteor Grey, Gold Sopia and Rose Gold colors by the end of May.
The company also announced the low-end Desire 326G for the Indian market. The handset features a 4.5-inch 720p HD display, dual SIM support, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, an 8MP rear shooter, 2MP front-facing shooter and a 2000mAh battery. HTC did not provide any details about the pricing and launch dates for the Desire 326G.
