HTC has partnered up with Under Armour to create a series of wearables devices for athletes that will work with the latter’s newly released UA Record app.

HTC’s Connected Products team is working closely with designers Under Armour’s on these wearables. While the companies did not unveil any specific product, they expect to launch a few products in the market in 2015.

Peter Chou, CEO, HTC commented, “Mobile innovation has completely changed people’s lives in recent years, making us more connected to our world than ever before. Now we want to help people be better connected with themselves, helping them to achieve their goals and gain deeper insight into their own lives to become the best they can be. By joining forces with Under Armour, one of today’s most exciting and ambitious leaders in empowering athletes, we are taking the first step on this journey and will provide consumers with a range of connected health and fitness products and services that no other brand can match.”

This partnership with Under Armour is another move from HTC to further diversify its business. The company has already branched from its core business of making smartphones into creating apps, devices and services like HTC Zoe and the RE Camera. In 2015, the company further expects to launch multiple health and fitness wearables, home products and more aside from smartphones.

The UA Record app is the first serious fitness and health tracking app from Under Armour. The app was also unveiled at the CES press conference and packs the best of MapMyFitness, which was acquired by Under Armour in 2013, and the company’s Women app.
