The HTC Hima, a rumored and far-from-official handset, is apparently already waiting for its big brother to show up, according to a new report.

Based on a report initially published by 4GNews [translated], HTC’s working on a smartphone that could be slightly better, and bigger, than the oft-rumored Hima handset that’s supposedly launching at some point in the early part of 2015. The report suggests that this new handset will be called the Hima Ace Plus, or at least that’s what it’s being called now while in development. And, as the name suggests, it does indeed sound like it could be a powerful new flagship for the company.

As far as rumored features go, the handset will apparently feature a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1440. More than that, though, the display will apparently have minimal bezels on the left and right sides, which should make holding the larger device easier. Under the hood, the report indicates it will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. It will reportedly feature a 3000mAh battery for good measure. There’s also supposedly a pair of front-facing BoomSound speakers, with an UltraPixel front-facing camera and a 20-megapixel camera on the back.

The report also stipulates that the Hima Ace Plus could feature a fingerprint reader, and that it will work when the display is off and the handset is in standby mode.

It’s certainly an interesting rumor, especially since the Hima Ace Plus is said to launch sometime in August or September of 2015. If the Hima launches in the earlier part of 2015, it will be interesting to see how HTC positions the larger flagship model in the lineup of devices.
