The first half of 2013 is almost over, and HTC has yet to announce any low end phones. That’s soon going to change according to Unwired View. The site has found evidence of two devices known as the Desire 200 and the Desire 600 on Taiwan’s equivalent of the FCC. There are no pictures, sadly, and the specs are rumored for now, but if you’re OK with that then keep on reading.
Starting with the Desire 200, it’s supposed to have a 3.5 inch display that puts out a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Not bad, but not great either. Under the hood there’s allegedly going to be a 1 GHz single core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera, and a 1,400 mAh battery. It’ll run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which … yea, let’s not go there.
The Desire 600 is a bit more interesting. It’s supposed to be a dual-SIM device with a screen of an unknown size that has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Powering it will be a dualcore 1.2 GHz processor from MediaTek, no word about the RAM or camera, and it’ll run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
It’s hard to critique devices you can’t see, and without pricing it’s almost impossible to say something worth reading, so I’m just going to stop hitting the keys on my keyboard now.
