HTC today launched two new handsets under its ‘Desire’ branding, the Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle. Both handsets feature largely the same design but pack in different specs and internals.

The Desire 10 Pro is the most powerful of the two handsets. It features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display that is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass. Inside the Pro is MediaTek’s Helio P10 chipset, 3/4GB RAM, and 32/64GB storage. It also features a microSD card slot, a fingerprint scanner at the rear, Bluetooth, NFC, microUSB port, and Cat. 6 LTE. The 7.9mm thin and 165g heavy handset features a 3000mAh battery.

There is a 20MP shooter sitting at the back of the handset with a f/2.2 aperture. It is paired with a laser autofocus sensor and dual-LED flash. The front features a 13MP selfie shooter with a wide-angle f/2.2 lens.

As for the Desire 10 Lifestyle, it features a 5.5-inch 720p LCD display. Inside the Lifestyle is a Snapdragon 400 chipset, which at this point is more than a couple of years old. The handset will come with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a microSD card slot. HTC will also be offering a 2GB/16GB storage configuration of the device at a lower price. The Desire 10 Lifestyle features a lower-resolution 13MP shooter at its rear with an f/2.2 aperture. There is a 5MP selfie shooter at the front with f/2.8 aperture.

Other specs of the Desire 10 Lifestyle include Cat. 4 LTE connectivity, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a microUSB port. Unlike the Desire 10 Pro, the Desire 10 Lifestyle does not feature a fingerprint sensor at its rear. The handset will also come with a smaller 2700mAh battery. The handset does come with improved audio quality.

Both variants of Desire 10 will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. They run a new version of HTC Sense that lets you customise the home screen as you wish. They also feature capacitive navigation buttons, unlike previous HTC phones.

The Desire 10 Lifestyle will be available in the UK and other selected markets from the end of September, while the Desire 10 Pro will make its way to markets from November. Both phones, however, will not be coming to the US anytime soon.
