Less than two weeks after it first unveiled the Bolt for Sprint in the United States, HTC today announced the international version of the handset: the HTC 10 evo. The Snapdragon 810 powered device comes with a 5.5-inch Quad HD SLCD display that is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 and a 3200mAh battery.
It also features a unibody metal design that is similar to that of the HTC 10, though it comes with one ace up its sleeve: it is water-resistant. The IP57 certification of the handset means that the 10 evo can be submerged in up to 1.5m of water for up to 30 mins without any issues. It is also among the selected Android handsets in the market to lack a 3.5mm audio jack. Other notable specs of the handset include a 16MP f/2.0 shooter at the rear with OIS and an 8MP wide-angle selfie camera.
The 10 evo lacks front-facing stereo speakers, but it still comes with HTC’s famed BoomSound audio technology. It also comes with a new Adaptive Audio technology that can tune the audio playback on the bundled USB-C earphones to better suit the surrounding noise. The HTC 10 evo will be available in Gold, Silver, and Gunmetal colors. It will be sold exclusively online and will not be offered through any carrier.
