More than a month ago, HP unveiled its first Android powered VoiceTab(s) meant for the emerging Indian markets. Today, the company announced at MWC that they will be bringing the re-designed VoiceTab to Europe and the Middle East in May.
The VoiceTabs will come in 6-inch and 7-inch versions with relatively low-end specifications. HP’s designers have also taken a lot of inspiration from the look of the HTC One and the BlackBerry Z10 in redesigning the new Slates. The front-facing stereo speaker grilles on the devices are reminiscent of the BoomSound speaker on the HTC One.
Detailed specifications about the devices are not available, except that they will sport an unspecified quad-core processor, 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, dual-SIM card slots along with a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing shooter. While the prototype units on the Mobile World Congress floor were running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, HP’s representative suggested that might change to KitKat before the devices hit the shelves.
HP plans on bringing the Slate6 and Slate7 to the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden in May for a low price of $330 (approx).
