Hewlett-Packard has recently announced a series of new tablets that run Android under the hood, two of which offer a stylus inside the box that may make writing on a tablet (by extension) way better.

HP’s new tablets start with the Pro Slate 8 and Pro Slate 12, both of which include a Gorilla Glass 4 display. The Pro Slate 8’s screen measures in at 7.9 inches, while the Pro Slate 12’s display measures in at 12.3 inches. Under the hood, both tablets offer a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and frames that measure in at less than 8mm thin. Each tablet’s screen has a 4:3 aspect ratio as well. As far as pricing goes, the Pro Slate 8 is marked at $449, while the Pro Slate 12 will go for $569.

The stylus that HP is including with both of the aforementioned tablets is the HP Duet Pen. By utilizing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon digital pen technology, and ultrasound transmitters that indicate the pen’s position and axis thanks to microphones in the pen that triangulate its position, the user can actually write on a piece of paper or on another surface and have that information transmitted to the tablet. So, while it may not be drawing directly on the tablet, the end result is similar enough.

Finally, the HP Pro Slate 10 EE features a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1280×800, with an Intel Atom processor under the hood clocked at 1.33GHz. There’s also 1GB of RAM, and features the option for a keyboard base.
