Redmi Screen Recording

Stock Android still does not have native video recording capabilities but Android OEMs have started building this feature into their skin. Xiaomi has also started including native screen feature on its devices like the Redmi Note 7 Pro, Poco F1, Redmi K20, Mi 9, Redmi 7, and others.

Most of these phones did not ship with screen recording feature initially but the company added the feature via software updates. The good thing is that the Screen Recorder app in MIUI 10 is pretty feature-rich. It comes with a plethora of useful options including the ability to record system sounds or audio from the microphone, change the recording resolution, and more.

If you own a Redmi or Xiaomi handset and are looking to use the screen recording feature, follow the guide below.

Record Screen on Redmi Note 7/Pro, Note 5 Pro, Redmi 7, Redmi K20, Mi 9

  1. Open the Screen Recorder app on your Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi 7, Redmi K20/Pro, Redmi Note 5 Pro, or any other Xiaomi device running MIUI 10.
  2. Before you start with screen recording, customize some of the recording settings by tapping the Settings icon on the top-right corner.
  3. You can change the screen recording resolution, the bitrate, frame rate, and more from here. Note that a higher resolution and bitrate might offer better quality but it will negatively affect system performance. This can be an issue if you are looking to record your phone’s screen while playing any game.
