Christmas is exactly two weeks away, and what better way to celebrate it than by buying you or your loved ones Google’s flagship Android tablet? Better yet, why not also buy a tiny little $35 Chromecast so you can argue over which YouTube videos to watch on your big flat screen television? With a new promotion Google is offering, the Chromecast effectively becomes free if you buy both devices, because Google will throw in $35 of Play Store credit. Use it on movies, TV shows, books, whatever, the money is yours.
Stepping back a little, should you even buy a Nexus 7? That depends on how big your phone is. Chances are if you’re reading this, you have a phone with a screen that measures at least 5.0 inches. Going from that to 7.0 inches isn’t that big of a jump, so I’d recommend taking the $220 you planned on spending on the Nexus 7 and putting it in a savings account for whatever new phone you plan on buying in 2014.
And as for the Chromecast, I’ve never played with one, but if I was living in the United States, I’d probably own one. YouTube videos and Netflix are how I consume most of my content, and having a $35 stick that plugs into the back of my TV that enables that seamless experience sounds absolutely brilliant.
