Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand, today launched the Honor 5X in India. The handset was initially unveiled by the company in China last year and made its global debut at CES 2016 earlier this month.
For a mid-range handset, the Honor 5X packs quite a bit of punch and is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset. It also features 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, and a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 support. The front of the phone houses a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display.
Despite being priced at Rs. 12,999, the Honor 5X features an all-metal body that is made from aero-grade aluminium that has a diamond finish to give it a premium look. The rear of the 5X features a touch-based fingerprint scanner and a 13MP rear shooter that sports a 28mm wide-angle lens and an f/2.2 aperture. It is also accompanied by an dual-LED flash and a Blue Glass IR filter. The front of the 5X sports a 5MP selfie camera that comes with an 88-degree wide-angle lens.
Impressively, Huawei will be offering the Honor 5X with 15 months of warranty and 1 month of free screen replacement in India. The 158g heavy handset will be available in Silver and Gold colors for Rs. 12,999 through Amazon and Flipkart in the country from February 1, with pre-orders starting from today itself.
