Around the time Samsung announced the Galaxy S4, SamMobile said the company would release a ruggedized version of it later in the year. At first I didn’t believe them, but a few weeks later the Wall Street Journal published an article confirming that it was indeed going to launch.

Now, thanks to the Dutch site TechTastic, there’s proof that this device is 100% legit. The GS4 Active’s model number, GT-I9295, just showed up on the Bluetooth SIG’s website. That very same model number was also discovered by the Japanese site Blog of Mobile on Samsung’s website in the form of a User Agent Profile.

What exactly is the GS4 Active going to look like? I’m actually incredibly curious to find out since it’s rumored to have the exact same specifications of the regular GS4. The Active version might come with better materials, a larger battery, flaps covering the ports, we’re not really going to know until it’s finalized.
