Google has updated its Play Store listing in the United States today to remove some of the previous generation Google Play edition devices from sale — the HTC One (M7), the Xperia Z Ultra and the LG G Pad 8.3.
This means that right now if you want to buy a non-Nexus device running stock Android, your options would be limited to the HTC One M8 and the Moto G. While the Play Store still lists the Galaxy S4 GPe, the phone itself is out of stock and chances of it coming back are bleak.
While a Google Play edition of the Galaxy S5 has been rumored for quite sometime, nothing concrete about the handset has leaked so users should not really pin their hopes on it. Either ways, the HTC One M8 is not a bad phone in any way and is well worth your hard earned money.
With Google all set to replace its Google Play edition program with its Android Silver line-up of devices, don’t expect the company to add any more devices to its GPe lineup this year.
