Google Family Link

For the parents out there that give their kid(s) device time, Google wants to make it a little easier to keep tabs on the details.

Google has announced the Family Link app, which allows parents to monitor a variety of different aspects on the device they let their kid(s) use, down to the screen time each app gets. The new app is only available by invite-only at this point, and only for those in the United States.

With Family Link, parents can keep tabs on the device’s screen time, and see which apps are getting the most use from their kids. Parents can also set daily screen time limits for the device, and there are weekly and monthly reports to help get a grasp on which apps are getting used or not used.

Additionally, Family Link will also let parents set a bedtime for their device, so that it locks the kids out at a certain time. It will also let parents approve or disapprove of apps kids want to download from the Google Play Store.

If you are in the U.S. and want to try out the app, just follow this link.
