Beside unveiling two new Nexus handsets, Google also gave us a sneak peek at a new tablet: the Pixel C. The C here stands for convertible and the tablet has been designed from the ground up with its keyboard accessory in mind. 

The Pixel C features a design that is similar to the original Pixel, though since it is a tablet it does not feature keyboard. The tablet comes with a 10.2-inch display with a resolution of 308ppi and features a brightness of up to 500 nits. Unlike the Pixel, the Pixel C runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The accompanying keyboard accessory that Google showed at the event will connect to the tablet using Bluetooth. Its internal battery is enough to last for up to 2 months on a single charge, and the keyboard can be inductively charged by the tablet when closed.

Internally, the Pixel C is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra X1 CPU and features a desktop class Maxwell GPU, along with 3GB RAM and 32/64GB storage space.

The Pixel C also features a light bar at its rear that can display the battery information when double tapped.

The Pixel C will be available before the holiday season for $499, while the keyboard accessory will retail for $149. Google says it will update the software on the Pixel C every six weeks.
