Google search for mobile platforms now has a new tab option — Apps. Expanding on their strong search result platform, Google Search now gives the ability to identify apps that are relevant to the search term or criteria. This then allows one to access quick description regarding the app, before using a one click option to download it.
When conducting a Google search, the traditional tab options have been All, Images, Video, News, Shopping and More; now the option of Apps has appeared in the same line. When selecting the apps option, Google provides summaries, reviews and a one-tap access to the Play Store.
Previously, relevant apps were displayed under the All Results tab as the first few options that one could select. Though there was convenience to the service, it was albeit messy. With the dedicated tab, the search results are much cleaner and better sorted for easier access. The ability to install apps directly from the search and streaming previews of the app without installing them are still present in the new interface.
Traditionally users would have to access the Play Store to search and install apps, but with this update, there is an added ease by having all search options consolidated to one location.
What are your thoughts on the inclusion of Apps as a result on Google Search? Would you find this service useful? Let us know in the comments!
