Google added delta update support to the Play Store eons ago. However, whenever you installed an app update, the full download size of the app was always displayed leading to confusion on whether the feature actually worked or not.

Google is now finally getting around to fixing this problem, as the Play Store has started displaying the size of the actual delta update instead of the full size of the app.

When you install a new app, the total size of the app is displayed since that is the amount of data that will be consumed. When you update an app, however, the ‘Download size’ section in the Play Store will show the size of the app that will be actually downloaded and not the original size of the app.

Even the progress bar will now display its progress according to the download size of the app and not the actual app size.

While this is surely a minor change from Google, it is one that adds further polish to the whole Play Store experience.
