New Play Store logo

Google has started rolling out a new version of the Play Store app that comes with a new app icon. The redesign is not as drastic as one would expect. Google is simply dropping the iconic shopping bag from the Play Store logo.

The notification icon has also gone through a similar change, but its such a small change that many people are likely going to completely miss it.

Google is slowly rolling out v7.8.16 of the Google Play Store to all Android devices out there. However, if you cannot wait for the update, you can always manually download it from here and sideload it manually.

Google keeps changing some minor stuff here and there with updates to the Play Store and its other Google app. The slightly redesigned Play Store app logo does look cleaner than before and is more in line with other Google app icons.

What do you think about the new Google Play Store logo? Or do you find the old one better?
