Back in October, Google had officially announced that it was adding Podcast support to Google Play Music, but the company completely forgot to launch it after the announcement. Six months later, it looks like the company is finally ready to add podcast support to Google Play Music.

An email from the National Public Radio to their members announcing when the podcasts would go live was forwarded to Android Police revealing the date. To take an excerpt out of the email:

“Google will launch podcasts on Android and other platforms next Monday, April 18, inside of Google Play Music, a streaming service similar to Apple Music.”

For months now, Google has been testing the interface for the podcasts. Some users have also seen it go live inside the Android app at one some point, but Google never officially released the update to public.

Unless these plans by Google change over the weekend, you should expect Play Music support podcasts on Monday.

Will you switch to Google Play Music for your podcasting needs once it gains official support for them? Or will you continue to stick to Pocket Casts or your current podcasting app?
