Google Play app icons

It’s been a few years since Google officially launched “Google Play” with its dedicated digital storefronts for games, apps, movies, and more. And now the family of apps is finally getting a uniform look.

Google has officially announced a shift in app icon direction, which will see all of its family of apps under the Google Play banner moving towards a more uniform look. Now you’ll get the guitar pick-looking icon across the different stores, with each market showcasing an image of what to expect to find in each store. For example, Play Games still offers the controller, Play Books now has a book peeking out from the familiar logo, and Play Music has an album with a musical note in its center, as you can see in the image at the top of this post.

The new icons will be present both on mobile devices on the web in the coming weeks. What do you think of the new icons?
