Google confirms same-day preorders for Pixel 3 after unveiling

While some companies are pretty quick to start preorders for their newly announced handsets, Google is apparently taking it to the next level.

The company recently sent out promotional material for its upcoming event on Tuesday, October 9, announcing to the world yet again that it will be hosting an event on that date where it will be announcing new products. The promo also lets readers know they can ask Google Assistant questions like, “What’s this announcement about?” and other questions geared towards the event. Of course, the promo also reiterates that the upcoming announcement takes place on October 9 and that it will be live streamed.

Down at the bottom of the promo, though, just after the livestream confirmation, is the revelation that Google will be hosting preorders for whatever it announces next week right after the event wraps up. We already know the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be announced, so it looks like Google will be opening up preorders for both smartphones next Tuesday.

That’s a pretty quick turnaround from announcement and letting people stake their claim on the newest Android smartphones. Unfortunately, while we know preorders start right away, the promo doesn’t give us anything else. We still don’t know when the phones will actually launch, and we don’t know how much they will cost.

Google has to save something for the event, one supposes.

Are you planning on preordering Google’s next flagship smartphone?
