Later this year, Google will launch the Pixel 2 smartphone, which means it’s right about time that the rumor mill starts getting to work on unofficial information.
Thanks to Android Police, we’ve got our first batch of news regarding the unofficial handset(s). According to the publication’s information gathered from an unnamed source, there are two Pixel phones being planned for the end of the year, one smaller than the other. And the first signs of that smaller handset have been revealed.
According to Android Open Source Project documentation, the smaller Pixel smartphone reportedly bears the codename of “walleye.” Unfortunately that’s all the information that report can pass on at this point, as the documentation doesn’t reveal anything else.
The publication was able to learn that the other Pixel smartphone, the one with the bigger display, has a codename of “Muskie.” It hasn’t shown up in AOSP documentation yet, and, if last year’s Pixel phones are any indicator, it might not show up at all.
Do you already plan on upgrading to the Pixel 2?
