Google has started rolling out the v1.3 of its Google Photos app for Android with some new much needed features to the app. 

Firstly, the update introduces the ability to reorder photos in an album. This feature was recently added by Google to the web version of Google Photos as well. Secondly, the app now provides an option to view albums that have been directly shared to you by your friends and family, while the third new feature is the ability to adjust the length of a video clip to only display the interesting parts in it.

Other minor additions to the app can be found in the full change log posted below:

• Google Photos can recognize collages/animations that Google Camera creates

• You are now able to login to Google Photos as a Plus Page

• You can reorder content in albums

• You can now trim videos to be included in movies

• You can see a new timeline user interface for Movie editing

While none of these features are big enough in themselves, they do combine to improve the usability and experience of Google Photos immensely.

Google is rolling out Google Photos v1.3 through the Play Store, but the update can take up to a few days to land on your device. If you are not willing to wait that long, you can always grab the APK from here and install it manually.
