The Nexus 6 went up for pre-order on the U.S. Play Store just a few minutes ago and it is now already being listed as “Out of Stock.”

The handful of lucky Android lovers who managed to pre-order the handset will only be getting their hands on the device on or after November 21st, more than a week after the device will be available for purchase on T-Mobile.

While the Nexus 6 is also slated to be available on the other major carriers in the United States including Verizon, the carriers are yet to announce a specific date for its release.

It has been more than two years since Google started selling Nexus devices online via its Google Play Store but the company still struggles with load and demand when the devices initially go up for pre-order or sale. In 2012, the Nexus 4 went up for pre-order on Google Play for like a minute before it went out of stock. The handset then returned in stock only after a month.

With the Nexus 5, things improved significantly and Google was better able to handle the load and demand. The handset sold out 15 mins after it went up for sale. With the Nexus 6, however, Google has once again managed to repeat history. From the replies and comments of many frustrated potential buyers, one can only assume that Google only had 6 units of the latest Nexus handset up for pre-order.
