Google Maps Parking

Google has rolled out a new parking difficulty icon for Google Maps users for Android to let them know how difficult it will be for them to find a parking spot to a particular place they are going to.

The parking difficulty icon ranges from limited to medium to easy, though unlike traffic data, this data is based on the historical parking data collected by Google.

For now, Google is rolling out the new parking difficulty icon for Maps users in 25 cities in the United States. This includes San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Diego, St. Louis, Tampa, Washington, DC, Cleveland, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Phoenix, Portland and Sacramento.

The feature is also only available for Google Maps users for Android, with no word on when it would be expanded to the iOS version of the app.
