Google’s Project Fi has seen plenty of attention since its public launch earlier this year, thanks to an easy implementation of its plan and pricing.
One drawback has been its single-user support, though, missing the family or group plan since launch. But that’s finally changing, as the company has officially announced a group plan for Project Fi, its virtual network. Nothing is changing on the network side of things — users will still use T-Mobile’s Sprint’s, and U.S. Cellular’s network while not on Wi-Fi, and data will still cost $10 per GB.
For each extra user added to the Project Fi group plan, of which there can be as many users as the manager wants, it’s $15 per user.
Google has also made it easy for the group manager to handle a variety of different tasks, including adding users (there is no activation fee), as well as handling data usage. The manager is able to turn off a user’s data service if they’re using too much, and they can manage data usage per user as well. The manager is also able to set data allowances per user.
Google is also offering $150 off the Nexus 5X and $100 off the Nexus 6P if they’re activated with Project Fi.
