More than a year after it initially announced its $35 HDMI media streamer, Google is launching the Chromecast in India. The company made the announcement at its inaugural Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) 2014 event.
Google will be selling the device through its own online Play Store, Airtel’s local stores throughout India, and eretailer Snapdeal. The company has priced the Chromecast at Rs. 2,999 (~$50) — which is a bit higher than its $35 price tag in the United States. It will be available for purchase from December 10 (i.e. tomorrow).

To sweeten the deal, AirTel will be bundling 20GB of free data with the device for three months. This data allowance will be over and above your existing plan with the ISP.
While a bit pricey, Google’s Chromecast is still cheaper than other HDMI streamers available in India.
