Google today launched the second generation Chromecast and Chromecast Audio in India. The second generation Chromecast comes with a new design that makes it easier to plug into the HDMI port of your TV.
It also features support for faster dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks, with support for the bleeding edge 802.11ac as well. The triple-adaptive design of the antenna ensures the best Wi-Fi performance even if the Chromecast is not in direct line of sight of your router.
Launched last year in September in the international market, the second generation Chromecast will be available through Flipkart, Snapdeal, Paytm and retailers like Reliance and Croma in India for Rs. 3,399.
Additionally, Google also launched Chromecast Audio, a small device that brings Google Cast functionality to your existing set of speakers. Many popular music streaming apps in India like Saavn and Wynk Music have already added casting support to their app, so once you plug in the Chromecast Audio to your speakers, you will be directly able to stream your music to it without any issues. Chromecast Audio is also supported by iOS devices and laptops.
Like Chromecast 2, the Chromecast Audio will also be available through Flipkart, Snapdeal, Paytm and retailers like Reliance and Croma for Rs. 3,399.
Will you be buying the Chromecast 2 or Chromecast Audio? Or do you think its priced too high for the functionality it offers?
