Google today started rolling out an update for Google Keep that adds two of the most often requested features from its regular users: labels and recurring reminders.
The inclusion of labels will allow Keep users to bundle together different notes easily. For example, users can label all their work related notes in Keep as ‘Office,’ so that the next time they are looking for a specific note from work, they can find it easily. Users will also be able to create manual labels to better organise their notes.
Recurring reminders will allow Keep users to set…well…recurring reminders. Reminders can be set to repeat themselves daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or at any custom interval as specified by the user.
Lastly, the update introduces a floating compose button to create new notes, thereby replacing the old action bar on the top that contained shortcuts to creating different types of notes. This floating action button (FAB) inline with the new Material Design guidelines of Lollipop. Google has added a FAB to all its apps on the Play Store through updates over the last few months.
