To make replying to emails easier, Google today announced Smart Reply for Inbox by Gmail. By making extensive use of machine learning, Smart Reply will be able to offer up to 3 different responses for the emails you get.

Smart Reply will only be able to offer simple reply suggestions, which can come in handy for emails that require a quick reply. For emails that require a longer reply, Smart Reply will be able to give you a jump start.

Smart Reply in Inbox

Smart Reply suggests up to three responses based on the emails you get. For those emails that only need a quick response, it can take care of the thinking and save precious time spent typing. And for those emails that require a bit more thought, it gives you a jump start so you can respond right away.

By using machine language, Smart Reply will offer replies using natural language. You can find more details about how Smart Reply works behind the scenes over at the Google Research Blog.

Just like every other feature from Google, Smart Reply will continue to improve over time depending on the responses you select and your usage pattern. Google will be rolling out Smart Reply feature for Inbox by Gmail on iOS and Android from later this week
