For folks that want to try out a subscription-based service on their Android device, but don’t want to pay that full price right off the bat, Google’s looking to make that possible.

At this year’s Playtime developer event, Google officially announced that it will be introducing a means for developers to offer cheaper introductory prices for its subscription-based app. This should make it easier for users to try out the service to find out if it’s something they want, and then, hopefully, easily transition to the full monthly price.

For instance, Spotify could offer a three-month trial period for $4.99 per month, if they so desired, and then just transition to the normal $9.99 per month subscription model.

The new ability for developers will roll out soon.
