Google Play Store refresh2

Gaming the system within the Google Play Store, where the digital content is available for Android users, will get harder with Google’s upcoming additions.

Google has officially announced a few key additions to the Play Store, which should work to remove fraudulent and spam activity from the digital storefront. The company is rolling out new filtering and detection systems within the Play Store, which should detect when an account is being boosted within the Play Store by fraudulent means.

If a developer or promoter downloads an app to help boost that app’s standing within the Play Store, the new detection tools should be able to filter those actions out entirely. The same filtering services will work for fraudulent reviews and incentivized rating schemes, which can all boost an app within the Play Store.

If a developer is found trying to falsely promote their app, they can have their apps removed from the Play Store entirely. Google says these new filters should help to add a bit more integrity to the Play Store in general.
