Google Home is rumored to get unveiled on October 4, along with new Pixel smartphones, and now a report suggests compatibility with Samsung products will be available right out of the box.
According to a report from Android Police, Google Home, the in-home Google Assistant-based device, will work with Samsung’s SmartThings platform once new owners turn it on. The information was gathered from an unnamed source, who says that the Google Home product will support the smart home product platform.
Samsung’s SmartThings works with a variety of different connected devices in the home, so along with expected support with Nest products, there should be quite a bit of products that will support Google Home for new owners. As of right now, though, it’s unknown which devices, specifically, and which routine types Google Home will support.
It’s rumored that Google Home will retail for $129 when it goes on sale later this year.
Do you plan on picking one up?
